Sharing the holiday spirit with the citizens of Parma, Academia Barilla participated in two municipal Christmas events. December 4th, on the historical square of Palazzo Zirieli, we hosted a very popular stand where visitors of the market as well as carollers could stop by for a cup of cappuccino or a piece of traditional "torta" baked the night before by our chefs in Academia Barilla.
On December 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th our culinary school opened its doors and welcomed over one thousand of Parma's citizens who participated in product tastings and in free lectures on the origins of authentic Italian products and on professional tasting techniques.
Many visitors also tasted and purchased the creations of Academia Barilla's Pastry and Chocolate-making Laboratories: 5 kinds of traditional Christmas bisquits, 5 types of Italian holiday cakes including the famous Panettone, and 5 flavors of hand-made chocolates.
