Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks
- 4 oz sugar
- 4 oz butter
- 5 oz all-purpose flour
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cloves
- lemon zest, grated
- butter
- jam, (redcurrant or orange jam)
For filling
- ¾ lb walnuts, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon Rum
For icing
Preparation
30 minutes preparation + 20 minutes cooking
Mix together the egg yolks, sugar, butter, flour and spices until you have a smooth, elastic dough. Roll out half of the dough into a thin sheet and place on a buttered baking sheet. Spread with a thin layer of marmalade. In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the filling and spread it evenly over the marmalade. Roll out the rest of the dough and place it on top of the filling. Bake in a 400 °F oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Heat the frosting according to the instructions on the back of the box and spread a layer across the top of the dessert. Before serving, cut into small cubes.
