Soak the beans overnight in salted warm water. In the morning rinse the beans and cook them in a crock pot, in abundant water with the celery and garlic. Cook for about two hours, then serve in soup bowls with toasted bread, drizzle some extra-virgin olive oil on top, and, if liked, ground chili pepper.
