Mix together in a bowl the butter and the Gorgonzola, crush them together with a fork and blend until a homogeneous mixture forms. Spread this uniformly on the slices of sandwich bread and then, with a sharp knife, eliminate the crust from the slices of bread. Cut each slice into four triangles, decorate a quarter of each one with walnut kernels and lay the canapés on a damp dish towel, leaving them there right up to the moment of serving.
