  • 1 lb green beans
  • canned tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • chili pepper
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • bread slice

Preparation

10 minutes preparation + 1 hour cooking

Pour the oil into the pan, add the garlic and chili, and as soon as the garlic colors add the tomato pulp and leave to gain flavor over moderate heat for 15 minutes. Mix in the beans, pour in some spoonfuls of water (as little as possible), season with salt, and continue cooking over moderate heat stirring from time to time. At the moment of serving, distribute the slices of bread in soup plates and cover them with the piping hot bean soup with basil added to it at the last moment (the liquid must be slightly reduced).
