  • oil
  • confectioners sugar
  • cinnamon
  • salt

Preparation

20 minutes preparation + 5 minutes cooking

Prepare a batter with the milk, flour, eggs, a tablespoon of sugar, a pinch of salt and the rum. To make it softer, blend in egg whites beaten to stiff peaks or add a bit of vanilla-flavored yeast.

Peel 3 or 4 large apples (golden or renette), core and cut into slices about 0.2 inch thick.

Immerse the slices in the batter and fry in boiling oil until golden. Serve hot sprinkled with powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon if you like.
