Ingredients
- ⅝ lb all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pinch salt
- water
- 1 ½ lb walnuts, peeled and crushed
- 7 oz dark chocolate
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 7 oz honey
- 7 oz sultanas
- cinnamon
- candied citron
- Rum
Preparation
40 minutes preparation + 45 minutes cooking
With flour, oil, salt and water, prepare an elastic dough. Add the walnuts ground with the cocoa, and the chocolate, sugar, cinnamon and candied citron. Amalgamate the ingredients thoroughly and blend in all the honey and the sultanas and douse with the rum. Roll up the dough, giving it the shape of a flattened snail and, after brushing the surface with egg yolk, bake in a hot oven (400°F), on oven paper for about 45 minutes. Leave to rest, and to cool, and serve in slices.
