Academia Barilla’s First Italian Cuisine in the World Forum (p.r.)

In Parma from June 14th – 16th, ambassadors of Italian cuisine coming from over 30 countries will convene to discuss the future and potential of Italian cuisine in the world.

From June 14th – 16th 2012, Academia Barilla (www.academiabarilla.com) will host its first ITALIAN CUISINE IN THE WORLD FORUM, during which the chefs, experts, and journalists will discuss how to protect Italian cuisine from imitations, preserve and distinguish restaurateurs who proudly promote high quality Italian cuisine, and safeguard the figure of the authentic Italian chef abroad.

The event will be a unique occasion for a unified appeal to all the professional chefs of Italian cuisine in the world to promote this country’s products, overall from Emilia Romagna.

Among the forum’s participants are John Mariani (USA), author of the best seller “How Italian Food Conquered the World”; Rosario Scarpato, journalist, TV producer, and director of Itchefs-Gvci.com, and Paul Bartolotta, Chef of “Ristorante di Mare” in Las Vegas.

The convention also offers the opportunity to assist in demonstrations and workshops with chefs, who will unveil the secrets of their success; and gastronomic experts, who are eager to share their own knowledge in the production of excellent cuisine.

Supported by Academia Barilla, the forum was organized thanks to Itchefs-Gvci and carried out with the collaboration of Apt Emilia Romagna, Enoteca Regionale dell'Emilia Romagna, Ferrarelle, Grana Padano, Pentole Agnelli and Terre del Sole.

During the convention, 26 cooks specializing in Italian cuisine who come from all over the world, each one awarded the prestigious Certificate I.C.M.C. (Italian Culinary Master Chef)*, will participate in the first edition of the PASTA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. The grand finale will be open to the public’s judgment on Saturday, June 16th.

The forum’s Gala Dinner on June 14th will be prepared by professional chefs from abroad, including Mario Caramella (Singapore), Francesco Farris (USA), Giulio Vierci (Japan), and Andrea Tranchero (Australia). Then, on June 15th, four Italian cooks who work abroad – Giovanna Marson (India), Odette Fada (USA), Simonetta Garelli (China), Oriana and Tirabassi (Indonesia) – will prepare a special dinner dedicated to the role of women in the diffusion of Italian cuisine in the world.
