Produced by artisan cheese makers located in the heart of the Maremma region of Tuscany, Academia Barilla Pecorino Toscano DOP is made with aromatic sheep’s milk that comes from the area of Grosseto.
Pecorino Toscano DOP is one of the few Tuscan pecorino cheese to recognized by the European Union as a DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) product.
The cheese is aged a minimum of 4 months.
Pecorino Gran Cru
Produced in Sassari, an area of Sardinia famous for its pecorino, our Pecorino Gran Cru is made with 100% sheep’s milk.
The cheese is aged 20 months using techniques normally applied to Parmigiano Reggiano, which makes this an innovative product that can be found exclusively at Academia Barilla.
Pecorino dolce cheese
Made from top quality milk of the rolling Sardinian hills, this young cheese is aged just 3 months. The result is a delicate aroma and milky bouquet.
Academia Barilla Pecorino Dolce is aged for at least three months and maintains the fresh flavor of the milk.
