Abstract:

During an evening just like any other, a young girl asks a restaurant chef to prepare something special for her. The point of the challenge is not winning, but the joy of communicating in a different way. In the chaos of the kitchen and the restaurant, the chef demonstrates his passion for food and desire to reveal the true identity of the mysterious customer.

In his own words, Romano Levi, “the angelic grappa maker,” tells the story of his life. Divided into five chapters and brief interviews, the film underlines the simplicity of an almost-lost, rural art form, based on love and experience. There are scenes depicting grappa production and the labels that Romano Levi has been individually hand-drawn for at least forty years.
