Ingredients: Per 4 servings
- 4 slices club steak, cut 1 inch thick
- extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 7 oz canned tomatoes
- 1 pinch oregano
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan, line up the slices of club steak (or small pieces of loin) and lightly brown over very high heat on both sides. Lower the heat, cook for some minutes, then drain and arrange on a preheated plate. Season with salt, a generous twist of pepper, and keep hot.
Put into the cooking liquid the crushed cloves of garlic, leave to color slightly, then mix in the fillets of tomato and season with more salt and the oregano. After 8 minutes of cooking the tomato, put the slices of club steak with their cooking liquid back into the pan and leave to gain flavor for some seconds. Serve the “pizzaiole” sprinkled with their sauce.
