Gulizzi Michele (I.C.M.C.)

Chef Michele Gulizzi grew up in the city of Palermo, Italy and got his diploma of culinary high school in 1985.
He started his cooking desire in many restaurants around Italy in 1998 went to USA – New York City with the position of Chef de Cuisine in Il Buco restaurant then Sette Moma (Museum of Modern Art) and Giovanni's Atrium restaurant. From December 2002 to June 2004, he moved to Circa restaurant.
Then in 2004, he came back to Italy and worked in Al Gaspo De Ua, Venice. In 2005, he relocated to Vietnam and worked for Park Hyatt Saigon as Chef de Cuisine at Opera restaurant, meanwhile performing various promotions within Hyatt International in Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Grand Hyatt Beijing, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Hyatt Regency Kuantan two times and Grand Hyatt Jakarta.

Chef Gulizzi now brings his expertise in Italian cooking style to make sure Italian cooking is well-prepared in an open show-kitchen.

“My love for Asian food and cultures has always made me want to live and work in Asia. This is a great opportunity for me to work at Opera, where I can bring the most authentic Italian cuisines and cooking style to introduce to this lovely Vietnam people. In addition, I also can discover Vietnamese flavours and recipes,” said chef Michele.

Opera, which was listed as One of Asia’s finest restaurants in The Miele Guide Awards 2009/2010, is located on the ground floor of Park Hyatt Saigon. It is a casual and modern Italian restaurant featuring a large open kitchen and an al fresco-dining terrace overlooking the Opera House.
